Berlin Marathon 2026: A week of running, innovation and incredible performances
For the second year in a row, Ochy was in Berlin throughout marathon week, right at the heart of one of the biggest running events of the year.
From meeting runners and running communities to performing live gait analyses alongside leading brands including Adidas, Zalando and HOKA, the week was all about one thing: bringing runners closer to a better understanding of the way they move.
And, of course, it all led to an unforgettable race day.

Ochy in Berlin for Marathon Week
Berlin Marathon week is much more than Sunday’s 42.195 km.
For several days, the city becomes a meeting point for runners, brands, coaches and running communities from all over the world, with shakeout runs, events and activations taking place across Berlin.
This year, Ochy was there throughout the week, giving runners the opportunity to discover their running form through AI-powered running analysis.
Using just a smartphone camera and a short running video, runners could get insights into their biomechanics and better understand different aspects of their movement.
Bringing running analysis closer to runners
One of the things we love most about events like Berlin is being able to take gait analysis outside of the lab and put it directly into the hands of runners.
Throughout the week, we met runners with very different goals and backgrounds, from those preparing to race their first marathon to experienced athletes chasing a new personal best.
Through live gait analyses, they could explore elements of their running form such as foot movement, knee alignment, pelvic stability and overall running mechanics, and leave with a clearer picture of how they move.
More importantly, it created conversations.
Questions about running form, performance, footwear, injuries and biomechanics came from runners all week long.

Alongside leading running brands
Marathon week also gave us the opportunity to be present alongside some of the biggest names in running.
Throughout the week, Ochy took part in activations alongside Adidas, Zalando and HOKA, helping make advanced running analysis more accessible directly within the marathon environment.
For us, this is exactly where biomechanics can make a difference: not as something reserved for a laboratory, but as information that runners can access and understand as part of their everyday running journey.

An incredible day on the streets of Berlin
Then came race day.
On Sunday, September 27, thousands of runners took to the streets for the 2026 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, with the iconic Brandenburg Gate once again providing the backdrop for the final metres of the race.
At the front of the field, Guye Adola won the men's race in 2:02:50, claiming another Berlin victory after his previous win in 2021.
In the women's race, Tigst Assefa delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend, winning in 2:11:04 and setting a new Berlin course record.
Beyond the elite performances, race day was also about the thousands of runners taking on 42.195 km for their own reasons: chasing a personal best, completing a first marathon, raising money for a cause or simply experiencing one of the world’s most iconic races.
Thank you, Berlin
Beyond the performances and the kilometres, what made the week special were the conversations and the people we met along the way.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, tested Ochy and helped make the weekend unforgettable.
And congratulations to everyone who crossed the start line in Berlin, whether you were chasing a personal best, completing your first marathon or simply enjoying the experience.
We’ll see you at the next starting line.
